Leo Phillipp will give a presentation on August 13th at the Loveland Community House located at 513 W. 2nd St., Dixon, Illinois, at 7:00 pm. His program is titled “The History of the Burlington Railroad Lines in Lee County.” He is going to cover passenger, freight, milk, LCL (package service), and other services. The lines are the St. Paul line between Lee and Steward, the line from Shabbona to Paw Paw, and the line from Paw Paw to Rock Falls.
Leo is a former Burlington Northern Railroad brakeman, switchman, conductor, and manager. He has been employed in the Railroad industry since 1973 for a total of 45 years. He is a Director and Vice President of the Burlington Route Historical Society where he has been a member since 1982.
This promises to be a wonderful program, especially if you love railroading.
