“Network to Freedom; a History of the Underground Railroad in Northern Illinois” at the July 10th meeting

Dan Wykes, educator for the Byron Museum and Read House in Byron, will speak on “Network to Freedom; a History of the Underground Railroad in Northern Illinois” at the July 10th meeting of the Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society. Dan worked at Sundstrand in Rockford for 25 years in the communications department and now works as a guide at Midway Village in Rockford. He also is a Civil War re-enactor with Battery G Artillery based in Stillman Valley. Dan graduated from Michigan State University and has a Master’s Certificate in Educator Communication. The program will be at 7 p.m. in the second floor conference room at KSB Hospital. Refreshments will be served and there is no fee.
